Turning Back Time

One of the works I have loved most for what it achieved. It reflects time — that mixture of emotions, changes and transformations life brings — always remembering that life is fleeting and wonderful. Such wonderful moments it brings us, of every flavour and colour, and many that might seem superficial turn out to be the ones that matter most.

Sometimes we go through life on autopilot, but many things remind us that it is not only about reaching goals: it is also about living, simply being aware of what we taste, of the rain, of the sun. That receiving a gift from someone... the gift is never the gift, it is the hands that give it. A sunrise full of life, a morning with hot coffee, a midday with a delicious lunch, a vivid sunset, a good dinner, a wonderful nightfall full of rest and repair. Looking at the stars and knowing they are so vast and so marvellous.

To live is to feel, to love, to weep, to let go, to learn. And as my wise mother said, we came into this life to make mistakes, to learn, to grow, to transcend. And then... as I always say... it does not matter what death is like, it will always be a great irony. But who cares: nobody can take away the dancing we have already done.
