I Miss You So Much

When I made this painting I wanted to capture an intense moment I had not yet known. Some years later, the most important person in my life, my mother Magola Ortiz Vásquez, passed away from stomach cancer. I look at this painting and... it is as though my future self had painted it back then... How I miss her...

She was the most tender person in the world, the wisest, the most loving. I have a series of paintings dedicated in her honour, but right now I only want to say: thank you, mum, and I miss you so much...
